New Creation - Supporting Education
New Creation, Inc., founded in 2017, is a non-profit, Christ-Centered substance use recovery organization providing clean, safe, stable, and affordable housing for individuals committed to overcoming their addiction. The organization was founded through the dedicated efforts of a licensed clinical social worker, who sought to bring the Healing House KC model to Johnson County, Kansas. In 2025, Holly Burgoon, stepped into the role of Executive Director/Board President and is forging a strong future for New Creation. Under Holly Burgoon’s leadership, New Creation residents have experienced a transformative journey marked by increased optimism and a renewed sense of hope, identity, purpose, and potential. Holly Burgoon’s approach empowers residents to translate knowledge into action, break free from limitations, unlock their full potential, and become valued members of society. With a unique blend of expertise in addiction recovery, business management, Christ-Centered biblical counseling, and law enforcement chaplaincy, Mrs. Burgoon is ideally suited and determined to lead the organization to new heights of excellence.
New Creation is located in Olathe, Kansas, a thriving community in Johnson County with a perfect blend of convenience and accessibility. Our location offers easy access to employment opportunities, shopping, and essential services, all within walking distance. Currently, New Creation offers a nurturing space for 48 residents to grow and heal. We are excited to announce an upcoming expansion of 24 more beds that will soon increase our ability to help more individuals. Thus, making an even greater impact in the community – a true testament to our commitment to providing a supportive environment for our residents. Our campus features six residential buildings: a duplex, two townhome buildings, an apartment building (consisting of four units), and two single-family residences, designed to promote a sense of community. Laundry facilities and essential toiletries are provided at each location.
Residents pay a subsidized rent or “shared living expense” during their stay. To further support the stability and well-being of our residents, New Creation provides access to three meals per day. This includes one hot meal that is served for dinner Monday through Friday, sandwiches, chips, cookies, and fruit amongst a variety of other items. This is a valuable benefit to all of our residents, especially those employed who need a quick grab-and-go meal.
A newly acquired community center located near residential buildings is also used for classes, groups, employment services (including resume assistance and job searches), case management, community events, and spiritual counseling.
New Creation proudly leads the Metropolitan KC area in recovery success, with an impressive 87% rate. This achievement is a direct result of our dedicated staff and the generous support from our partnering organizations. We're deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to New Creation's mission over the years. Your efforts have made a tangible difference, saving countless lives. As we look to the future, we're excited to expand our services and housing, further empowering individuals on their journey to recovery.
